Congratulations to our sisters in the UK and everyone who fought so hard for this victory today. My heart is so full for all of you.

Aha! That explains why certain sections of my social media are seething with bile today against the great villain of the age, đ, Joanne Rowling. And why others are typing in obvious bewilderment to declare that they are good people, and they agree that women are female, why are their progressive friends attacking them? Itâs not like they are monsters or anything, they are good allies, but, like, there are two sexes, right? Everyone knows there are two sexesâŠ
Excellent news. Well done, TERFs of TERF island!
(though part of me wonders if the court might next rule that water is wet and the earth revolves around the sun)
Itâs truly amazing news.
Itâs also great for all of us worldwide because now ce can point to the UK and say « see what the UK did ?! Thatâs how it should be » and not sound completely demonic to the general population.
Iâve said this before, and Iâll say it again. The activism of the British GC movement, the grassroots organising of A Womanâs Place UK, Sex Matters, and, crucially in this decision, For Women Scotland was exemplary. The calm insistence on womenâs rights, the detailed legal and academic arguments, the refusal to demonise their opponents, the defence of same-sex attraction and unconventional presentation, the courteous and implacable engagement with politicians, governments, committees, ngos, trans organisations, the brilliant and brave lawyers who articulated the obvious impact on girls and women of erasing sex.
This is how itâs done.
Quote:The Supreme Court rejected the idea that the categories of âmenâ and âwomenâ refer to the possession of government-issued documents rather than the immutable biological categories of male and female.
The judges accepted that sex discrimination against women, or against men, is discrimination against members of an objectively defined, materially distinct group, not a group defined by possession of government-issued pieces of paper.

the law used to be the whim of the king. the magna carta made law common
gender ideology changed law to the whim of any man
law had to stop being stupid
this is a good start, medicine next. puberty is not pathology
(Apr 16 2025, 9:32 PM)nina from canada eh this is a good start, medicine next. puberty is not pathologyIt boggles my mind that trans people will say "forced puberty" or "coercively assigned gender" or even call the fact that they're male or female a "disorder" or "condition", as if this completely natural and neccessary aspect of human biology is somehow imposed onto them by an oppressor force.
