Not good stuff. Unsurprisingly, things have continued to deteriorate.

  1. Some sources claim Trump is trying to draft up some bullshit about an "emergency order" or something because he fears the midterm elections.

  2. The AI company Anthropic is apparently one of the only large US AI companies that was willing to refuse to allow its AI to be used by the Department of Defense because the DOD refused to agree on these two Anthropic requests: 1. that any military killings were not fully AI-automated, basically that a human had to be the one to confirm/"press" the "kill button" and 2. that their AI was not going to be used to perform mass surveillance on the US population. DOD refused to accept those terms, Anthropic didn't back down, DOD tore up their contract with Anthropic and went "nuclear" on them.

  3. (Continued from 2.) Trump admin carried out their threat on Anthropic about designating them as a "supply-chain risk," meaning that any company that wants to do business with the US military is no longer allowed to use Anthropic. (Axios) This kind of treatment is usually done against businesses of foreign countries, like China's Huawei. This tactic being used against a US company, especially because the reason is "the company has more morality and ethical standards than we do" is some insane petty shit.

  4. Trump launches military attacks on Iran after Israel launched "preemptive" strikes on Iran.

Shit sucks. Country is a dump. I remember when I started this thread, part of me was hoping I was a bit "overreacting" and that it wouldn't be "that bad." It's been worse than anything I could have imagined. Thanks Trump-voting idiots. Enjoy your stagnant wages, murdered US citizens, Murican Brownshirts (ICE), increasing unaffordability in all basic needs (food, shelter, healthcare), pedos running the world with no prosecution, and war in the Middle East.
