Over in the UK, the GC feminists are well understood to mostly be Labour-oriented women politically precisely because analogous groups to this were forged many years ago. The result? This issue, even in the halls of power, isn't half as split along partisan lines in Britain as it is here in the U.S. If you don't try then of course conservatives take over the cause and reset it to their own terms, submit it to their own xenophobic agenda, and soon that becomes the only framing through which people view the issue. |
