GLAAD CEO admits corporations coerced elected politicians to stop anti-LGBTQ bills in America - Colibri - Jan 24 2025
Some guy called Malcolm Clark tweeted this:

For people who don’t use twitter, there’s a short video of Sarah Ellis, the CEO of GLAAD, who says,

A lot of that was activists and front lines folks, and a lot of that were companies, who had conversations, and talked about, “If you do this I’m gonna run a political opponent against you, and I’m gonna help fund them. If you do this, I’m pulling out my plant that I’m about to build. And they did it quietly to make those moves…It cut off there, so I don't know if she elaborated, but I have to assume this was overwhelmingly to do with anti-TQ bills as opposed to anti-LGB bills. According to this trans legislation tracker, there were 672 "anti-trans" bills in 2024. Also, I don't think what she describes is technically blackmail like that guy is saying it is, and I'm not sure if it's even illegal, but it's still corrupt, and I'm surprised she just admits this publicly.

This is how American politics works - companies and their bank accounts have huge influence over politicians. It's not illegal, it's how the system is set up. The Citizens United case (2010) struck down limits on corporate donations so it's become even more corrupt these days

Yeah, I'd assumed they were receiving money from TRA donors, but I wasn’t sure if they were being threatened in some kind of way.
And there's this from Jennifer Gingrich:

Several of us had written this senator a few times on these issues over the past few years - one even mailed him Helen Joyce's book. We all got form letters in response. It would appear that someone in his office has not been forwarding to him any opinions that contradict trans activism.
I wonder how many other US congressmen never get to hear such views from their constituents for the same reason?
