The South Carolina Prenatal Equal Protection Act, which was introduced originally in 2023 but dropped from consideration in early 2024, has been refiled by State Rep. Rob Harris ®. The bill has seven other Republican co-sponsors, and is set to be considered by the state House Judiciary Committee early next year.
The bill defines fetuses and embryos at any stage of pregnancy as legal persons, thus defining any type of abortion — including those that happen before the state’s six-week abortion ban — as homicide, effectively creating a total abortion ban.

Lol I mean, that too, but I was alluding to them still knowing who to oppress. I was so disappointed with women on ovarit arguing that this would be a better outcome because republicans can define what a woman is. Like, yeah, they know what a woman is, and this is what they do with that knowledge.

😅 Sorry, I was making a joke about that but didn't stick the landing, lol. I agree with you; very sick of all the "at least they know what a woman is" discourse (I posted a related piece by Victoria Smith here). The joke was just that they keep saying things like "at least they know what a woman is" and "ooh, look, they used the word people instead of woman" while ignoring the fact that the Republicans are treating women as subhuman.
