The Unicorn Manifesto: Sharing Tumblr posts on double standards on female genitals - Clover - Apr 13 2025 https://ovarit.com/o/WomensLiberation/527234/imagine-if-male-genitals-were-treated-like-female-genitals “Imagine if male genitals were treated like female genitals?” Posted on Jan 12, 2024 From a post from Tumblr, multi-authored Tumblr post chain. Quote:Imagine if male genitals were treated like female genitals? Like testicles weren’t even referred to as testicles and some men didn’t even know what they were actually called and the general area was just called “penis”. Quote:Imagine if boys were told that their prostate doesn’t exist. Imagine if hairy genitals on men were called “bearded snakes.” And they don’t know how many different holes they have until adulthood. Imagine. Quote:imagine if men were flocking en mass to get “testicle tightening” surgeries. imagine if men weren’t taught that they could have orgasms. Imagine if it were considered rude to say “penis” even in debates regarding legislature involving medical care about men’s penises. Imagine penis was a word that was considered too “dirty” to be said on television. Imagine if penis’s were depicted only as meat-sticks that fit in vaginas with no other value. Imagine if teenage boys heard joke after joke about how all dicks smell terrible no matter what Quote:Imagine if people thought the more a penis was used, the smaller and more useless it became. Quote:Imagine if the ideal male genitalia were small and hairless like a prepubescent boy’s, and larger/hairier male genitalia was considered gross and sloppy. Quote:Imagine if mens worth and respectability was estimated by the number of his sexual encounters with women, Imagine if men who had sex before marriage were considered filthy and licentious, I.e) “sloppy seconds” Quote:Once all these things are true for 10,000 years then we can talk about equality The Unicorn Manifesto: On how to increase more woman-centric content on Ovarit - Clover - Apr 13 2025 https://ovarit.com/o/Ovarit/526333/ways-to-increase-woman-centric-content-on-ovarit Ways to increase woman-centric content on Ovarit Posted on Jan 9, 2024 Hi everyone. I remember a post was made some time ago where a person noticed a lack of women-focused content on Ovarit. I understood what she meant, so since then I've been trying to "do my part" in increasing woman-focused content. (Ovarit content fluctuates constantly based on who's active at any given time.) I wanted to share some methods that I use to do so, in case others might find this useful.
I hope this is helpful! The Unicorn Manifesto: The Monkey's Paw - Clover - Apr 13 2025 https://ovarit.com/o/GenderCritical/525295/the-monkey-s-paw-transwomen-do-not-want-to-truly-be-seen-as-women The Monkey's Paw: "Transwomen" do not want to truly be seen as women Posted on Jan 5, 2024 Transgender-identifying men, "transwomen," when they experience the closest possible thing they could experience to what it's like to actually be a woman in our sexist societies, they vehemently abhor it. Chasers. Chasers are men who are attracted to transgender-identifying men. They are a "special" type of men who reduce transgender-identifying men to fetishized sex objects. I think that these chasers are very similar to misogynistic men (which are the unfortunate vast majority of men) who are attracted to women, in the sense that both these groups of men view women and transgender-identifying men as sex objects. And what attention do the vast majority of transgender-identifying men lament about and rant about? The attention they get from chasers. They write on their dating profiles "no chasers." They complain on their subreddits about chasers. They ask "how do I avoid chasers?" "How do I look out for chasers?" They fear when they're in a relationship with a man if he's really a chaser using them for sexual gratification, and doesn't view them as a whole human being, doesn't love them as a human being, but desires them as a sex object. The vast majority of women know what that's like to be treated like a fetishized sex object from a very young age, due to the misogynistic culture and society we are raised in. We know and are used to this disturbing and perverse treatment of ourselves. It is never pleasant knowledge, to grow up knowing you are seen as an object to fuck, as holes to degrade. So it's interesting to me, when transgender-identifying men cry so hard about how they want to be seen as women, and when they actually are treated how women are treated in a sexist patriarchal society, they abhor it. I assume the feeling of being treated like a literal sex object is quite new to them. They do not grow up with this, like women do. It is different than the sissification fetishes some of them participate in, which are just "fun little roleplays" for them and are ultimately their choice/consent to participate in. Even when they call "cat-calling" as affirming and euphoric, they still view it from the lens of a man, that "cat-calling" is secretly pleasing for women. When they experience men quite literally, intentionally, and deeply seeing them as a mere sex object, a person who deserves no respect or dignity, that's the closest they'll feel to what it's like to be a woman. And they hate it. Transgender-identifying men don't want to be actual women. They make it clear when they are treated like how women are actually treated in modern-day society. They want to be their idea of woman, not the reality of woman. They don't realize their idea of woman is a misogynistic fetish, a one-dimensional sexist stereotype, and they are shocked when they are truly treated as such. Be careful what you wish for. The Unicorn Manifesto: Sharing Tumblr user female-malice's post on breast-binding - Clover - Apr 13 2025 https://ovarit.com/o/GenderCritical/521419/interesting-post-about-breast-binding-having-been-a-trend-in-the-1910s-in-china Interesting post about breast-binding having been a trend in the 1910s in China Posted on Dec 21, 2023 Quote:The breast binding trend that young women are doing now has already been done by young women 100 years ago. Link to post by female-malice on Tumblr. She quotes from the paper The Qipao: Defining Modern Women in the First Half of the 20th Century by Adrienne Cox: Quote:The changes in qipao fashion began with the trend of breast binding in the early 1910s. Breast binding became more popular toward the end of the Qing dynasty, especially among young female students, who sought to hide their feminine figures by binding their breasts and wearing the early qipao that was stylistically similar to their male counterpart’s changpao style. Quote:Breast binding provided young women with a slim boyish figure and allowed them to show off a more androgynous body as they began to move into the public sphere, which allowed them to preserve a sense of modesty. By hiding their feminine figures, they were able to enter the public sphere without drawing the attention of the male gaze as sexually promiscuous women. In the late 1910s, the trend of breast binding for political reasons quickly spread around urban China, and by the 1920s women of each province sported their own versions of breast binding devices. Quote:The general practice of breast binding also points toward women’s desire to take control of their bodies as they are increasingly visible in the public eye. Women chose to bind their breasts as a way to make their body more suitable to the public eye, which then allowed them to take advantage of education and job opportunities that would bring them directly within the gaze of a society that had functioned by hiding female bodies for centuries. During this time period, who was in control of women’s bodies was the serious question. The changes in both breast binding and qipao styles provided women the opportunity to enter the public sphere without drawing the criticism of conservatives who felt women should stay within their traditional gender roles at home. Quote:By the early to mid-1920s, another movement was beginning to gain traction that completely changed the way that women would display their bodies in public, as well as how the Nationalist government would respond to women’s political needs and demands. This movement began as some urban women sought to free their bodies from the constrains of their clothing as well as the constrains of traditional gender norms. These women sought to literally free their bodies from the historical bindings that had deformed women’s bodies. In this movement, breast binding became closely linked with rhetoric surrounding foot binding, which linked it to the feudal and restrictive past. Feminists across China called this the ‘natural curves’ movement, and it sought to completely eradicate breast binding and focused on women’s physical health. Quote:When the ‘natural curves’ movement began, the women involved focused primarily on celebrating women’s ‘natural’ curves and bringing the ‘natural’ female form more fully into the public eye. This would both literally free women from hiding their figures using harmful tactics such as breast binding, as well as figuratively freeing women from the traditional expectations that drove women to hide themselves from men. Quote:In the late 1920s the Nationalist government, as well as some conservative civilians supported ‘natural breasts’ and fashion that followed not out of a desire to liberate women, but out of concern for their reproductive health and creating a clear divide between genders. A popular magazine called The Women’s Monthly published an article that openly admonished young women who still bound their breasts, and other women’s magazines published articles encouraging women to abandon their old binders in favor of the western bra, that would support the breasts without constraining them. Breast binding was said to be a major detriment to a woman’s ability to raise her child, as it was widely accepted that breast binding caused women to be unable to produce milk. These groups linked what was supposed to be a form of female liberation back to the traditional gender roles that many women were trying to escape. Tumblr user female-malice then sums it up succinctly: Quote:First there's a breast binding trend among young women who want to avoid being sexualized by male peers. The Unicorn Manifesto: Wondering about anger - Clover - Apr 13 2025 https://ovarit.com/o/Women/520834/how-to-have-a-healthy-relationship-with-anger How to have a healthy relationship with anger? Posted on Dec 18, 2023 Anger is a valid emotion. Anger exists for a reason. Just because anger is used as an excuse for abusive people to hurt others does not mean it is without its purpose. Anger is the fire that cleanses that which is dead and dessicated. The ashes nourish the soil and supplement new life. Suppressing anger adds more fuel to the fire when lightning sparks the overgrown dehydrated forest brambles. Anger demands justice. Anger demands accountability. Anger demands fairness. Anger can be the start of a desire for immense change. These are ways I try to frame anger in a beneficial light. I think the issue for me is that anger for so long has been equated with violent and abusive behavior, especially from men. Untangling the two takes time. I've been reading clarity & connection by yung pueblo, and while overall I like the encouraging messages, I feel like at some point it somewhat encourages people to quell anger and promote passivity? Maybe I am reading too much into it and getting too personal with the text. In the part I am referencing (sorry, I've already forgotten at what part of the book I had these annoyed feelings), as a woman, I find it rather arrogant. The author is a man. I do not need to explain to the women here how much men have abused the emotion of anger to attempt to rationalize their violence. For too long, men have force-teamed anger with violence. I find it convenient for men to realize "I don't need to be angry" when really the realization needs to be "I don't need to be violent." Men conveniently can enjoy living passive peaceful lives, free of "anger," while also free from the restrictions imposed by patriarchal systems they benefit from. They conveniently can give lectures and realizations of how we can all simply free ourselves from our anger and magically the world will just work itself out (aka quietly seething women do work in the shadows). Again, maybe I'm reading it wrong or something. I've kept reading the book since the part that prompted me to write this post, and I haven't felt that same pang of irritation since. Women's anger is frequently mocked or dismissed. When women are angry, it's hysteria. When women are angry, it's uncivil and "unladylike." It feels like women are not allowed to be angry. How do you have a healthy relationship with anger? I welcome any advice or input on this matter. Anything that helps you work through anger. Be it thoughts or exercises or activities. My goal for this subdomain and page is to help introduce people to radical feminism a bit more in-depth than the main kindrad website.
I'm open to any feedback, critique, or suggestion. Please let me know if I am incorrect in anything I've written, or if something is confusing. Thank you! The Unicorn Manifesto: Wondering about the gender socialization of transed children - Clover - Apr 13 2025 https://ovarit.com/o/GenderCritical/504638/do-you-think-male-children-who-are-being-raised-as-girls-due-to-pro-trans-parent Do you think male children who are being raised "as girls" due to pro-trans parents are getting female or male socialization? Posted on Oct 26, 2023 I am curious about this. Radical feminist theory posits the reason the vast majority of men "are the way they are" is because of their male socialization (along with the benefits of maintaining the patriarchal status quo for males). This makes me wonder, do you think that male children who are currently being raised "as girls" by pro-trans parents are receiving male or female socialization? Part of me feels like these boys are still going to receive some male socialization from their parents, who know the truth. The aspects of being coddled, being given "star treatment," being "special," only considering themselves and such. These seem common socializations for males? However, if this boy is raised "as a girl," and girls have to include him in social activities and consider him a girl, would he not receive some sort of female socialization from his peers? Not only that, but I think children are pretty gender-neutral looking, without gendered markers like clothing and hairstyles, until they start to reach puberty? (I'm not sure, I don't know much about child development.) So if a boy were dressed as and encouraged to pretend to be a "stereotypical girl" their entire youth, wouldn't people interacting with him give the boy some sort of female socialization? The only two cases I could think of was David Reimer and Jazz Jennings. David Reimer had an absolutely tragic story, he was not transitioned "by his own choice." His parents were told to raise him "as a girl" due to a botched circumcision, doctors decided to give him a full orchidectomy and craft him a "vagina" as a young child, because apparently that's "better" than being a penis-less man. Reimer committed suicide in his 30s, his parents say his suicide was due to the sexual abuse done to him and his twin brother in their youth by Dr. John Money. The other case is Jazz Jennings, who I feel like doesn't quite work because of the large amount of his life he was treated as a poster child for specifically being trans, not just "a girl," and how much of his childhood was spent being a reality TV star and a trans activist. I wonder if boys who are being transitioned are not receiving either male socialization or female socialization, but instead some unique sort of "TIM socialization?" The boy would know that they are trans and that they "chose" to be trans. They would grow up considering themselves "special." Pro-trans parents likely make sure their son feels that they're "special." What do you all think? |
